Official Video Game Thread
Okay, by popular opinion-and by that I mean a baseless suggestion by one other person-I'm creating a video game thread. I know that there's already an EVE thread and possibly a WoW thread (I haven't checked) but this is for any video game in general. Discuss favorite games, upcoming games, characters, or whatever. So for all you other gamers out there...this threads for you. Prepare for unforseen awesomeness.

Re: Official Video Game Thread
I can honestly say that HALO series was one of the worst first person shooters as far as a single player game was concerned. Multiplayer was fun. But single player left much to be desired. That being said, Halo 1 had the best last 2 levels in any FPS.
I'm hoping that Homeworld 3 is on the way. And an additional hope is that the guy resposible for the travesty of a game that was Dawn of War 2 is not going to be touching it.

Re: Official Video Game Thread
Wow, dunno why but after reading your post I went to game nostalgia-land. so lets mention some of my favourite old games. Battlezone, Dune 2000, Jazz Jackrabbit, and Dink Smallwood in no particular order. How many here recognize those (mostly refering to Dink Smallwood)? all awesome games, and all different generes.
Although Battlezone might be inside of a grey area, considering it was an fps where you would need to build and control other units. But that was also what made it so awesome!
And I want Jazz jackrabbit 1 back damnit! B-zone and Smallwood I still got lying around, but Dune 2000 does not work on my comp and searching for Jazz Jackrabbit 1 have been fruitless so far...
Oh well, I might have to look forward to new games... Hey, I might even try Eve!
Edit part: Oh and i meant that Nilo Kaal's first post triggered the nostalgia trip.

As far as FPSes go. The most fun i have had in one was Crysis. But there are other games that have awesome elements. Over all i play FPSes because I am board more then anything.
BattleZone was probably one of the games that I fondly remember and wish that that style of game took off more. The multi-player on that game left you wanting more and more.

Re: Official Video Game Thread
Not exactly a first person shooter but Gears of War 1 & 2 were awesome to play: campaign-wise and online. Although I prefer 2 for online 'cause of the added Horde Mode.

Yeah, did co-op on my friend's 360. Dude, if you liked #1 you'd love the second one. You take out a gigantic rock worm that's destroying cities...from the inside.Keyou-bi wrote:Never beat the second one. Wanted to but never got access to an x-box for long enough.

All of them up to but not including the new ones. I also have a pretty high end PC.

Not bad. I dislike lap tops primarily because they used to be so bad for gaming. they would last an hour and call it quits.

Re: Official Video Game Thread
Yeah, mine has an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor, which is 2.1 GHz. Meh. Most of the actiony games like Call of Duty 4 and such don't run too well since most of them require a 3.0 GHz processor to run smoothly. I can still play 'em, it's just not as good...

Re: Official Video Game Thread
Well, I got Assassain's Creed and it runs perfectly except for the cutscenes. However, I got Prototype too and that lags a bit, so...

Re: Official Video Game Thread
Prototype needs a very good graphics card. It might not be the porsessor that is casing the poor performance.
