This time, I lose the fight for consciousness, falling asleep in the squad car almost as soon as we pull out of the apartment complex. It's too bad, I don't know how exactly to get to the police station.

I have an interesting dream involving cliffs thousands of feet high, a large book, and Jane Goodall. I'm in the middle of commenting some climber going up the side of a rocky bit of the cliff when I'm awakened by the cop. "Cmon son, up and at 'em, let's go into the nice building."

Sleepily, I react. "These aren't my crayons!"

I calmly stagger to my feet, aided by the policeman. He leads me rather gruffly to a padded room. I take the opportunity to look around. Neat! There's flyers and uniforms and the hustle and bustle of a busy parking lot. I smell donuts.

In my new padded room, there is a door to my NORTH, which is closed. I am no longer handcuffed, but there is nothing here. I can hear something about a nurse being on their way from outside.

I walk over and tug on the door. Nothing. I try pushing on the door. Nothing. I try sliding the door. Nothing. I attempt to shout Abracadabra at the door. Nothing. I try shouting Open Sesame! Nothing. Then Open Sez me! Nothing.

It's quite the lovely room. The wall are a calming beige/off-white color, it's pleasingly square, and the walls and floor alike are completely covered in a soft foam-like material. There's a soft white light that I can't reach in the ceiling, illuminating the room. I am still fully dressed, but I have spots of blood staining my shirt.

I pull off my coat and fold it up, noting the actual substantial amount of blood on the back. I must have hit my head pretty hard when I went down those stairs! I'm now holding my toothbrush and my folded up coat.

There's a knock on the door, announcing someone's intention to come in.

I put my coat down, intending on using it as a pillow to nap, but I'm interrupted by a female nurse and a male orderly, who inform me that they need to do a check up and clean all that blood off of me.

I docilely accept this, and am led away with the two to a shower area. They help me undress, and I am bathed by the orderly as the nurse examines and cleans the back of my head. I quietly enjoy the attention, although I feel a little awkward without my clothes. I maintain a death grip on my toothbrush the entire time. She asks me questions softly, and I answer dutifully, correctly, relating my day just as sanely as the next person.

I'm handed a towel, and I dry off easily. They don't give me back my own clothes, however, but a dingy stretch pants and matching shirt.
