Does Liz have hair or is that some kind of long spine or scaley plume?

In coloured pictures it looks like hair becuase but in the comic the hashing makes it look like scales.

    ...

She's a lizard, so shouldn't have hair, but in the universe of the comic people seem to have head-hair regardless... but then Zigfried doesn't.

    The Chay is confused.

Liz (the artist) has explained this before, so i'll relay the info. The "hair" on liz's head is actually scales that function as hair, they shed off just like the rest of them.

now about zig i have no idea.

They're both iguanas, although Liz probably has some gecko or something in her family tree so she looks less iguana-esque than Zig. Then there's the simple character design problem of making sure they didn't look so similar folks mistook them for relatives.

If there are eastern dragons, are there western dragons?

Well, if you assume there are Eastern dragons, logically you have produced the cardinal directions. Since you went out of your way to specify "eastern" dragons, you imply that there are dragons elsewhere. Having established the cardinal directions and implied that they matter, it would be safe to assume that there are indeed Western dragons.

I specified Inix as an eastern dragon since there is a inherent difference between the design of "european" dragons - horns, wings, breathing fire, usually relatively feline-bodies, etc - and "asian" dragons - snake-like, no wings, lion manes, etc. That's not to say she was born in any asian country, it's just the type of dragon she is. Sort of how not all German Shepards come from Germany.

Random tidbit too, I imagine her with an accent slightly russian/eastern european, with bits from other areas. She's moved a lot in her life and thus her accent is a blend of a lot of things rather than just "she sounds like Molotov Cocktease". It's not a heavy accent, but it's definitely there.
