having skimmed the new IG codex, I'm kinda disapointed they removed Doctrines from the last one, but at least here in our dencity, I seemed to be the only IG player that used them.
If people are intrested, I'm willing to post my 1,500 Ultramarine Tactical Strike Force to give a idea for the new codexs?

I used the doctrines once or twice. Im kinda glad they are gone. They made the army very powerful if you knew what you were doing. And if you had the bits lying around then you could make truely powerful armies that could not be stoped, save by another IG army using the doctrines. The last rules avalible for armored companies still use doctrines. But they are way more restrictive then for the infantry armies.
