The Liquid Energy

'twas a hot topic over in the Comic subsection, so I thought it would make good conversation over here as well.

Caffeine! Energy drinks! Sugar water! Energy in liquid form. Quite a few people on the planet depend on the stuff. What do you drink? Why specifically that?

Personally, I drink water. Filtered water, nothing in it. Well, maybe ice, as I love the cold. And nothing else. Caffeine and energy drinks may be unhealthy for the rest of you, but they are extremely unhealthy for me. I am border-line diabetic and have hyper- something or another that makes me process sugars/stimulants way too quickly. A very small amount of caffeine gives me headaches. The one time I had a swallow of a caffeinated beverage (Mountain Dew, FYI), I passed out in under a half hour and woke up to throwing up. Great party.

So boo to coffee, energy drinks, and sugar.

I can't drink things with a lot of caffeine in them. I tend to get too....crazy.

Besides I hate the taste of coffee and energy drinks. They're way too bitter for me. In case of energy drinks I feel like I'm drinking unfiltered piss.

I drink energy drinks *snif* its like an addiction with me.
If i don't have a perfect ammount of caffene during the day i get the strong urge to stab someone. In the mornings if i don't have at least two cups of coffee i won't move off the couch for several hours. I really need to cut back, but i really don't want to.

I used to drink large amounts of strong coffee/tea (not as much as Tease though) but a few years ago I was diagnoised with depression following some unpleasnt family news and having to drop out of my Uni course at the time.
I had to stop due to my medication reacting with the caffeine and preventing me sleeping.
Coupled with my diabetes it's hard to find a drink I enjoy but I still have my Irn Bru (A scottish drink) and I tend to get quite cranky without a bottle or two every couple of days.

Yes.

And people claim the stuff isn't bad for you. She's about to kill people over it. I'd say that's fairly unhealthy.

I don't know why, but I can't drink still drinks unless theres no other option.

Tried this out last night when I was unable to sleep and needed something to drink.
1 small cup of tesco cheapie tea
1 slurp of peppermint cordia
milk

PURE awsome in a cup. better than ANY normal peppermint tea I've tried. Which is a lot as I get IBS every few months due to stress.

Try going on a long trip into the woods where you have to drink nothing but water for about 21 days. Then come back to 'civilization' and go to a McDonalds and try to eat the normal value meals. This is why i cant eat them ever again. The amount of evil sick was amazing. But the only thing more intence then that was the rush of the coke that i had. Suddenly my brain was on fire and thoughts were going at about a million miles an hour. Outward Bound does mean things to you >.<

Eat a McDonalds? Eeeeewwwwwooooo!!!!!! How could you!!!!! KFC's much better.

Eat fast food? Eeeeewwwwwooooo!!!!!! How could you!!!!! Home food is much better.

KFC's not that fast, you just trip up the bucket as it tries to escape and devour.

ahh yes Teas but realize that while I can apreciate this tactic for food. Not everyone enjoys pouncing in their meal. =P

I prefer my food being given to me, rather having to chase it down.
