Guest Comics!!! 11/22/2010-11/26/2010

Today's guest comic brought to you by Curtis McGrew. I think Mr. McGrew took the "Mac's are better" argument to a weird place.

Oh also I think we should consolidate the guest comics to one thread. In case this even ever happens again.

Because they aren't truly relevant to the main story. All of them are non-canon and after this is over we can use this as a place to put fan comics for the future instead of making another thread.

Because they aren't truly relevant to the main story. All of them are non-canon and after this is over we can use this as a place to put fan comics for the future instead of making another thread.

Arguably, we could put all of the main comics together in one thread because they're relevant to the main story.

And bog down one thread given how often Liz updates? Where as not as many people would do fan comics or are aware of the forums to actually post them.

An update is an update, regardless who drew it. I think the guest updates should merit their own thread, just as the normal updates do. If we're gonna consolidate one, consolidate the other. Otherwise, it's a meaningless and arbitrary decision.

If someone wishes to make another guest comic outside of when Liz wants guest comics, they can feel free to make a new thread for it. Or stick it in the Color a Comic thread. Or whatever.

Liz updates the comic three days a week we'll round the number of weeks to four to make things simple. 3x4 is 12, so 12 comics each with a reserve post on one page. A thread page can have up to 20 posts which in one month the comics alone would take up over half. Each thread gets around 3-5 additional posts so that would end up being 12-20 posts for the entire month. So if threads were made on a monthly basis there would be 40 posts at most, possibly more or less. Does this seem like a big deal? No, it doesn't you have a point there. Would it be a big deal if it was a yearly basis? Yes it would, no one wants to go through a discussion thread with at around 480 posts.

The only reason why each update is given it's own page is because of the sporadic nature of the comic and how it can randomly go into left field.

With guest comics they're one off non-canon shots. If everyone would be allowed to make a thread it could end with the forums becoming over clogged. Having a singular thread for a catch all in the case for guest/fan comics makes sense since people can come in share what they made while still maintaining an organized structure for the comic updates.

As an aside your attitude isn't needed, in fact you really should stop it especially if you're a mod. There's no need to be a prick.

I think it's cool to put these guest strips in a chunk if you want, but to put ALL guest strips in one thread might make for an enormous thread, not to mention it may be a while before I need to do a guest week again and making a new thread might be easier than unburying an older one. Just my opinion though, don't take that as the end rule.
