I figured it was a sick rumor spawned by someone. But just the thought of it terrifies me still.

If there WAS goin' to be a Metroid movie (which seems to actually supposedly happenin' since 2004), I can see Scarlett Johanssen as Samus.

Re: Official Video Game Thread
Microsoft showed off (and couldn't stop talking about) Project Natal now known as Kinect (pronounced "Connect"). Eight games are scheduled to be released this fall along side Kinect, with two fitness games, a dancing game, and the remainder being "gimmicky" games.
However I will say I am interested with the features that Kinect can be used with the 360's Dashboard hub. Also I like the fact that it's actual motion sensitive without the need for a controller. Nintendo and Sony are going to have to do a lot of catching up if Kinect turns out to be a big success.

On a side note, the little girl playing with the virtual pet tiger was just adorable!!!! X3

Re: Official Video Game Thread
Nintendo's E3 Conference was hit and miss:
New Zelda was meh and suffered from technical issues
Mario is having another spin off game
Disney has Epic Mikey which has an interesting concept but isn't as edgy as people thought
There's a new Kirby game with a new concept
Nintendo is releasing Dragon Quest: IX in America
Metroid: Other M had a trailer
Donkey Kong is returning to the side scrolling platform genre
Nintendo is having GoldenEye remade for the Wii with Daniel Craig as Bond
Finally Nintendo showed the new Nintendo3Ds and a trailer for a Kid Icarus game for the new hand held.
Personally I'm looking forward to GoldenEye, but that's about it. The rest I'm going to wait and see.

Re: Official Video Game Thread
Sony's E3 Press Conference was pretty packed and honestly I think the word bloated would be a better word choice.
In a nut shell, Sony's making games in 3-d which require glasses and a 3-d TV to take advantage of, a "new" motion sensitive controllers which require a little camera as well to use, a bit of ego stroking was done, they talked about exclusive game content but only a few truly exclusive games, announced they're partnering with Coca-Cola for marketing purposes, and a new subscription service on top of the online service they have now (though they never really mention what the difference is)
In my opinion Sony didn't really come out too strong this year. Yeah they have some new features for their systems but they all cost way to much currently to really take full advantage of. Also them cracking jokes at Microsoft's preshow with the Cirque du Soleil was really unprofessional (even if the event in question was lack luster)
At the end of it the three heads of the video game industry I have to give it up to Microsoft who really pushed for their new hardware and the continuation for their exclusive IPs and Nintendo showing their dedication to their fan base. Sony however was really weak with a poor attitude and in the end uninteresting add ons for a system that does have some real potential.

Star Wars: The Old Republic "Hope" cinematic Trailer
I'm saddened by this because I know the actual game play won't be anything like this. :C
Also it's an MMO and most likely means I need to pay a subscription fee to play the game to its full potential.

It's Bungie Day!!!
And to celebrate it Bungie had the folks at Rooster Teeth do a little "PSA" showing a fan favorite map, Blood Gulch, making it's triumphant return to Halo Reach.

Re: Official Video Game Thread
having great fun with the add on's for ME2.
If nothing else, the new content introduces 2 new members of the team, a ex-merc who survived a pointblank headshot and a asisan thief (<3).
Having said that the new characters loyatly missions raise some intresting moral choices. One involves choosing between killing someone important to one of them, thus unlocking thier special ability (a WP style grenade) which is VERY handy agaisnt some opponents or saving civilians.
It's a hard choice

I'm more a fan of the old-school turn based RPG, which sadly is all but died out now
All real time fighting now, which is ok sometimes in it's own way, but it just isn't the same...
I'm also a fan of the Final Fantasy "series", although the last one was a serious let down. It's the first one I completely gave up on before I was even halfway through.

Besides the fact that I've never played Mass Effect, how would that even work? It's like the silenced shotgun in Modern Warfare 2! *rant*Blackwolf wrote:Just downloaded the Ageis pack for Mass Effect 2
