The westboro baptist church, a small kansas "church" that has a history of protesting at the funerals of soldiers, spewing hateful anti-evrything dogma, are now planning to stage some sort of picket at the funerals of a federal judge and nine year old girl that were killed in an Arizona shooting last Saturday, and on the corner the shooting took place.
This group makes money by staging these protests, then sueing when the grieving family members try to drive them away so they can mourn in peace.
This pisses me off, of course, but I am also saddened by the fact that someone, anyone, would dare to desicrate the dead in this disgusting and hateful manner, and then attempt to profit by it.
But with every cloud, there is a silver lining. To protect the mourning family, community members are working on creating a wall of 10 foot wide angel wings, worn by concerned citizens, to physically prevent the church from getting close. There are also murmurings that Hells Angels will show up.
