It's Back To School Time

Yes that time where your yearly freedom from academics that is summer is coming to an end and you find yourself asking the questions: Where do I go to sign up for classes? How do I park in this crazy place? That calculator costs how much?!

It's that time and here's the place to express your joys or vent your anger with this particular time of year.

As if taking summer classes wasn't enough... gonna have to take twice as many this semester. Bleh

I know if there is one good thing about going to college this year its free cash from the government.

Well, I've already been taking classes for the last month, so I dunno about back to school... and I live on-campus... Hm.

I look forward to it. The summer has been so dull.

Yeah the summer has been dull, but i just graduated high school. i had that moment of freedom. Oh well, it will be good getting back to what i like doing, Wasting time at the college.

I;m in the middle of trying to transfer, and the admissions office is being crappy. They are now making me pay for the play I'm in (something I did NOT have to do the last time I did a play, but since they've cut the damn budget for the theatre department so much, now I have to) and won't let me get my transcripts until I do.

Wow, Blackmail

It's not blackmail, they don't let students send transcripts or tranfer from the school if they still have fees due. They wouldn't want anyone disappearing while still owing money. That's a general policy at a lot of schools. However, it sucks ass because the theatre department has had so many budget cuts, the plays that are usually scholarshipped have to be paid for now. The sports department never has to deal with that crap...

I find out on Monday afternoon if I have a snowballs chance in hell of returning to study nursing, yet I've lost my notes from before, I don't expect to get back in, and I'm not sure I want to. Nursing is something I want to do and I'd be good at it, but after four years of being jerked around I'm not sure if I want to put up with it.
Guess we'll see ?

Well, I went today to speak with my advisor and basically had him tell me that... I'm about to sign my soul over to the devil and I'm never going to transfer out of this 2-yr college. I'm sitting here thinking here is a person that is supposed to make my college life easier and he rains down this s**t storm and it's not really something i need to hear.

What have I got myself into?

I'm not going back to school, and I didn't last year either. This is because I got jerked around after I graduated from my two year college. I went to Delaware College of Art and Design and got a two year degree in "The Fine Art of Graphic Design" I was told I I could go to either PRAT or MICA with out any problems and all I had to do was show them my portfolio. I did this and they told me that I "Need more submissions" despite the fact I included everything I did in my design classes, illustration classes, drawing classes, and even some things I did outside of school. This is very odd because when I applied to DCAD I didn't have a lot and I still got in.

So I decided to seek other colleges only to be told that I would have to start all over again as a freshman. So you mean to tell me that those two years at my college count for nothing?

Yeah screw you all too. In fact I'm not really interested in graphic design anymore after that. I just want to try working for myself doing commissions. It'll be a lot harder I'm sure, but at least I know I won't be screwed over.
