Re: Awesome Sites Feature!
All I can think of off the top of my head is it being more apparent when you're drawing live. Fun to watch. Heh, hip-hopping hippos, that's gold.
Maybe the "Liz Draws Live" button changes? I dunno...

Canadian sketch comedy group! They've raised a lot of money for kids in their "Desert Bus for Hope" Campaigns. All the money went to Child's Play Charity. They release a short every Monday and it causes so much joy with what they do.

Re: Awesome Sites Feature!
If I ever make a set schedule for doing the live drawing, I'll post it on the top of that page, and announce I have done so in the blog That way, it's all in the same spot.

Re: Awesome Sites Feature!
Just a warning, if you're easily amused/fascinated by science/or anything, for that matter, you'd better not visit this site until you have at least an hour to kill. I spent 5 on it when I discovered it.

a good way to get started is to check out the "Best of 2007/8" links on the left

Re: Awesome Sites Feature!
well........... it is an awesome site... *sheepish shrug*
although, it seems I'm not the only one who misunderstood.
First suggestion: consider revising the wording of this topic
I agree with the ustream thing... maybe you can find a code to embed an "on/off air" tracker in your site.
My only other suggestions are re: layout. The main page tends to sprawl downwards and it would be cool if you did something artistic with the background.

My comment was directed at the both of you.

Bah! Just because you lot are too lazy to consider reading the actual post.
My only other suggestions are re: layout. The main page tends to sprawl downwards and it would be cool if you did something artistic with the background.
NOOO! Well, I agree with the sprawling, but the background is a terrible idea. It causes the page to load slow and distracts from the actual comic.
Actually, the sprawling is a problem. That definitely causes slow pages. Maybe if the blog entries were on separate pages instead of all on one?

Re: Awesome Sites Feature!
White backgrounds just remind me of websites from the 90s. Remember browsing the internet for the first time?
a single color background wouldn't hog bandwidth and would go a long way to livening up the layout.
examples:
http://www.lackadaisycats.com/
(sepia)
http://www.jaynaylor.com/
(pink)
http://www.crowfeathers.net/
(navy)
Alternately, you (Liz) could make the text more fun, like on lizardbeth.net

Re: Awesome Sites Feature!
I'm not taking suggestions necessarily for what to do with Brokenplotdevice.com (although if you have them, don't hesitate to post them too!) What I'm looking for is OTHER websites you think are cool, that I can feature in the blog. I did one for cuteoverload.com yesterday, and I'd like to do more like that.

Re: Awesome Sites Feature!
Wow! When you set out to do something you really do it. It looks a bit overdone, but after reading some of the things you posted (like the online TV guide) it is pretty comical. Very nice.
