Eh, as long as any additions dont massively change the SP campaign, I don't really mind too much. Call me nostalgic, but there was more character to the old assault rifle. You just dont get guns like that in games these days.
Then again, 343 might care more about the Halo franchise than Bungie does now, and really work to keep the flavour of the original while putting in meaningful improvements. They were started up by Microsoft, however, explicitly to "manage the Halo franchise", so it wouldn't be all that surprising if they just phoned it in. Time will tell.

And more than likely the "new" Halo: Combat Evolved will only be available on Xbox...

Well, I do recall reading somewhere that Microsoft wanted to bring Halo back to the PC at some point, so... one can hope, right?

They're not rebooting it per say. The motive behind this is to see what the original Halo will be like with current technology and to celebrate its tenth year anniversary. It's also 343 Industries first shot at making a Halo game so they want to go in with a sure thing.

Not a big fan of the Gauss Rifle, as a sniper rifle, it's unbeatable, but a battle rifle it's not. I'll stick with my modded .44 Trail carbine :3

And in the "Oops" department, EA accidentally had Mass Effect 3 up in their online store for preorder. Since the the VGAs are this weekend it's an obvious guess what Bioware's announcement was going to be.

Starting to question how much was hacked since the writing on the portal gun is different that what it should be.

Mass Effect 3 reveal trailer. Think it's time for me to pick up the first two and get working on them before the next year rolls around. I'm guessing that should be enough time to build up my Shepard. :p

On the topic of mass effect, it runs really REALLY jerkingly on Steam for me making it practically unplayable, any help would be GRATEFULLY received

Is this the first ME you're referring to? Becuase I have a similar issue that renders the game nigh-unplayable after an hour or two. I know the cause (OpenAL drivers according to forum posts on the matter), but any fixes I attempt never seem to work.
